Depperin Utus Delegasi Ke Matsushita Jepang
JAKARTA - Departemen Perindustrian (Depperin) meminta agar principal Matsushita Electric Industrial Co, Ltd asal Jepang tetap menanamkan invetsaisnya di Indonesia. Langkah ini dilakukan untuk menggairahkan sektor riil dalam negeri.
“Saya sudah suruh pak Budi (Dirjen Industri Alat Transportasi dan Telematika) untuk kirim delegasi agar Matsushita tetap mengembangkan produk TV digitalnya di sini,” kata Menteri Perindustrian Fahmi Idris di Jakarta, belum lama ini.
Pemerintah kata dia, minta agar Matsushita Electric Industrial Co, Ltd asal Jepang dapat mengganti teknologi terbarunya dengan mengembangkan lini produknya TV digitalnya seperti LCD atau plasma di Indonesia.
Meski demikian hingga kini Matsushita belum memberikan kepastian. “Katanya dia (MTPDI) harus tunggu keputusan di Tokyo,” ujarnya.
Menurut Fahmi, hengkangnya perusahaan patungan PT Matsushita Toshiba Picture Display Indonesia (MTPDI) lebih disebabkan akibat peralihan teknologi. Selama ini lanjut Fahmi, Matsushita memproduksi televisi jenis tabung (cathode ray tube/CRT), sementara teknologi televisi telah beralih ke era digital.
Hal ini menyebabkan permintan pasar untuk jenis TV tabung secara global menurun drastis, termasuk di Indonesia.
Akibatnya kata dia, Matsushita menutup fasilitas pabriknya di Indonesia. “Memang ada sejumlah negara yang masih menggunakan TV tabung seperti di India dan sejumah negara di Afrika,” katanya.
Mengenai tutupnya pabrik PT Panasonic Electronic Devices Indonesia (Pedida) di Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat Fahmi berkomentar, saat ini Pedida tengah berkonsentrasi untuk mengembangkan Electronic Devices yang berbasiskan teknologi digital di Batam.
Teknologi terbaru ini terdiri dari enam lini produk salah satunya adalah loud speaker. “Dia memusatkan unit produksinya di Batam,” kata Fahmi.
Menruut Fahmi, perusahaan itu sudah seharusnya melakukan pengalihan teknologi yang sesuai dengan tuntutan pasar, hingga tidak perlu hengkang dari Indonesia.
Sementara Dirjen Industri Alat Transportasi dan Telematika Deperin Budi Dharmadi mengatakan, penutupan pabrik itu tidak terkait dengan iklim investasi di Indonesia.
”Teknologi yang sudah tidak sesuai untuk dikembangkan dan efisiensi, menjadi penyebab utama penutupan pabrik itu,” katanya.
